Welcome to our farm, where sharing the farm experience with families is our specialty! We are a fourth generation family farm. Since the late 1930’s our family has worked the land and raised various crops right along with their children. Farming has changed considerably, especially with mechanization but the core values remain the same. Caring for the land, appreciating the bounty it provides, and realizing where our food comes from. All our special activities are listed below.
Bring your family and friends to experience light strawberry picking in May and light cherry picking in June. Everyone will learn how these fruits grow, how to u-pick, and then be provided with a u-pick basket. Family day will include planting seeds in your own take home container, a nature hunt, sack races, bounce ball action and tug-o-rope. Then it’s off to the farm yard/play area where there are goats to pet and feed, chickens and rabbits to visit with, and “Bella”, our mini pygmy goat who loves to be walked on a leash. There’s also “Quackers”, the duck who thinks he is a goat and our newest addition, “Dewey”, our daughters quarter horse. “Dewey” is a great horse, with a kind, sweet disposition and has become quite fond of the field trip children who visit during the week. Two large haystacks, along with antique tractors to climb on are in the farm play yard. There’s also, “The Fort”, where children can view the “lay out of the land” or play in the large, shady sandbox below. The “Bean Pond” and the honey suckle tee-pee’s will bring about a child’s imagination for make believe. Bring your lunches and enjoy one of the shaded, grassy picnic areas. Or, purchase a hot dog lunch at the, “Country Store & Food Stop”.
